Flying Skies

I spent 14 hours on a plane going to and from China. During that time, we traveled over the northeast United States, Greenland, the North Pole, Russia and China. These two pictures are from a plane view of Greenland and I’m not sure what country we flew over in the sunset but it’s beautiful.

Here it is! My second wonder of the world, complete! We walked under a bridge that led us to the ticket booth. Once we purchased our tickets, we walked up concrete stairs that led us to The Great Wall. It’s incredible that this wall was built in 700BC and still stands today. The view from the wall is breathtaking as you look out into the mountains.

We took a two hour flight to Beijing where we explored the MingΒ Tombs and the Great Wall. The Ming Tombs are breathtaking because they are surrounded by grassy mountains. They have a building with artifacts from the Ming Dynasty and it was so cool to see the outfits and jewels the emperors wore.

I got back from China two days ago and I can say it was a complete experience for me! Shanghai is a beautiful city full of things to do. I went to The Bund which is a bridge that overlooks the river into the skyline of Shanghai. I walked down the hidden alleyways in the heart of the city, led by a man named Ming Ming. The alleyways were probably my favorite part because it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. We stayed at The Four Seasons in Shanghai and it was the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The pool overlooked the city, which was even more impressive at night.Β

Shanghai

I was able to explore Shanghai for the first time yesterday! It was raining the entire time but I wasn’t going to let that stop me! They have a part of the city that is similar to Times Square, although not nearly as colorful and bright. The prices of clothing and food are a lot cheaper than in the US too so I may have to buy more than I expected. (It can’t hurt right?) I will have another post up of the Great Wall of China (ahhh!!!) and Disneyland Shanghai!!

Central Park

If any of you live near New York or plan on taking a trip, Central Park is a must! It’s a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Times Square, with plenty of space to get fresh air and move about freely. One of my favorite places is Bethesda Terrace which has an antique look to it. The architecture is exquisite and something I don’t see too often.
